Rob has helped hundreds of people from all over the country to stop smoking permanently with just one session.
New Scientist Magazine Reports that the most effective way to quit smoking is with hypnosis. A researcher carried out a statistical comparison of over 600 studies covering almost 72,000 people from Europe and America and found that Hypnosis came out on top, above self-help books, nicotine substitutes (such as gum), acupuncture and will power. It really is the best way to stop smoking.
A later study by ‘Which’ magazine also confirmed these findings.
Addiction or Habit?
Many smokers will often say the reason they find it so difficult to quit smoking is that they are addicted to nicotine. This is using the word addiction in such a loose way that it becomes meaningless. Some people will use it in the same way when referring to gambling, eating sweets or even biting their nails. There is no evidence, however, to suggest that nicotine promotes the same kind of chemical dependency of such things as heroin.
The chairman of the British Medical Association Dr Sandy Macara said
‘I don’t believe that smokers are truly addicted to tobacco.'
I think they have a habit…’
How does it work
The single session, of approximately an hour and a half, is divided into two parts, the first half we talk about the various beliefs the client has about smoking and how they have tried to stop in the past. I explain how certain ways of thinking are not useful when trying to achieve something and how you can alter your thinking to change. The second half is the hypnosis part. Both parts are equally important in helping the client to gain control over their habit.
